VINAI is an Italian electronic music duo consisting of brothers Alessandro Vinai and Andrea Vinai. The musicians come from Brescia, a city in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. Alessandro was born on January 25, 1990, and Andrea on January 10, 1994.

The brothers began working together in 2011, while their first notable professional releases under the VINAI name appeared in 2013. The project’s name is derived from their surname.

VINAI gained international recognition as one of the leading representatives of big room bounce, an energetic festival-oriented style combining big room house, electro house, and Melbourne bounce. The Beginning of Their Career

Alessandro and Andrea became interested in electronic music in the late 2000s. They taught themselves DJing and music production, initially working on separate projects. Among the artists who influenced their early interest in dance music were David Guetta and Bob Sinclar.

In 2011, the brothers decided to join forces. Their first collaborative recordings were released under their full names, and in 2013 they began actively developing the VINAI project.

One of their first notable singles was Hands Up, released after they signed with the Italian label Time Records. The track received support from Tiësto, Showtek, DVBBS, Deorro, Quintino, and other major festival DJs.

Raveology and the International Breakthrough

In 2014, VINAI joined the Dutch label Spinnin’ Records and released Raveology, a collaboration with Canadian duo DVBBS.

Before its official release, the track circulated in DJ sets as an unidentified ID. Once its creators were revealed, the composition received support from Hardwell, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Afrojack, W&W, Diplo, R3HAB, and other leading figures on the EDM scene.

Raveology reached number one on Beatport’s main chart and became one of the most recognizable festival tracks from the peak era of big room house. The composition established the foundation of VINAI’s signature sound: a powerful four-on-the-floor kick, a short synthesizer riff, a sharp buildup, and a drop designed to provoke an immediate crowd response.

Bounce Generation

Their next major success was Bounce Generation, created with American producer TJR.

The track combined big room house with elements of Melbourne bounce and a distinctive vocal call. According to Spinnin’ Records, it became the most frequently played track at Ultra Music Festival 2014. Following its release, the recording topped Beatport and remained at number one for two weeks.

Bounce Generation firmly established the brothers as international festival artists.

How We Party

In August 2014, VINAI released How We Party, a collaboration with R3HAB.

The track continued the big room bounce formula and was premiered during a joint performance by the artists at Tomorrowland. Several days after its release, the song also climbed to the top of Beatport. As a result, Raveology, Bounce Generation, and How We Party gave VINAI three number-one positions on the platform’s main chart in less than a year.

At the end of 2014, the duo entered the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs ranking for the first time, placing at number 62.

Louder, Legend, and The Wave

In January 2015, VINAI joined forces with Belgian duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike to record Louder. The track continued the project’s heavy festival sound and became one of their best-known releases from this period.

The same year also saw the release of:

In January 2016, VINAI worked with Harrison again on the track Sit Down.

The concept was connected to a popular festival technique: before the drop, the DJ asks the audience to sit down, after which the entire crowd jumps simultaneously when the beat returns. The track’s structure was specifically designed for this type of audience interaction.

During this period, the duo also released LIT with Olly James, Into the Fire with Anjulie, and Zombie. Alongside big room, the brothers began using vocals, pop melodies, and softer transitions more frequently.

Expanding Their Sound

During the second half of the 2010s, VINAI gradually moved away from constantly repeating their original big room formula.

In 2017, they released:

In 2018, the brothers released Everything I Need with Redfoo and Out of This Town with Hardwell. The former represented the project’s more accessible vocal side, while the collaboration with Hardwell returned VINAI to a large-scale festival sound.

The Zerothirty Label

In 2017, VINAI began developing their own label, Zerothirty. The platform was used to release both their music and works by other electronic producers.

The name referred to nighttime and club culture. Creating their own imprint allowed the brothers to depend less on the schedules of major labels and experiment more freely with different genres. The existence of Zerothirty and the release of VINAI’s music through the label were confirmed by Spinnin’ Records.

Rise Up

On May 1, 2020, VINAI released Rise Up, a collaboration with Vamero.

The song marked an important stylistic turning point. Instead of focusing exclusively on a festival drop, it placed a pop chorus, melodic chords, and rhythms suitable for both radio and dance floors at the center of the composition. VINAI themselves noted that the track differed significantly from their earlier work.

Rise Up became the duo’s biggest streaming success. According to DJ Mag, the song had surpassed 400 million global streams by 2025.

Its success confirmed that VINAI could preserve their recognizable energy while adapting their music to the contemporary vocal dance-pop scene.

Vocal Electronica in the Early 2020s

Following Rise Up, the duo continued developing a more melodic direction.

In July 2023, Marnik and Naeleck released Boyz in Paris featuring VINAI.

The track uses the recognizable motif and elements of Niggas in Paris by Jay-Z and Kanye West, reworked into a contemporary dance format. It gained widespread popularity on streaming platforms and in short-form videos.

According to DJ Mag, by 2025 Boyz in Paris had accumulated more than 300 million global streams and had become one of the biggest later releases associated with the VINAI name.

Remixes by W&W and Coone were also released, strengthening the original track’s hard rave and hardstyle elements.

DRAGON X and the Modern Era

In 2024, the brothers launched a new label called DRAGON X, focused on high-energy electronic music and a large volume of digital releases. DJ Mag described the project as an important part of the duo’s contemporary activity.

In 2025, VINAI ranked number 94 in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll. The publication described their current style as hard EDM and named Bounce Generation, How We Party, Rise Up, and Boyz in Paris among their defining works.

The brothers’ modern music has become harder and faster. Their catalog has incorporated elements of hard dance, hard rave, and festival techno. This direction continued with Hard Techno Love, released in 2026 with PHOROS and Church of Molly.

In 2026, the duo also presented the singles Here We Go, MISS YOU, and Just a Dream.
