Viktor Leonidovych Mykhailenko, better known as DJ Rem-x, is a Ukrainian DJ, musician, and composer from Odesa. He was born on October 21, 1985. He became well known in the club scene thanks to his original house tracks and the organization of parties and events.
Although Viktor has stopped performing publicly under the stage name DJ Rem-x, he continues to work actively as a composer and producer under the name Victor PROG in the field of electronic music.
Early Career and Creative Path
Viktor Mykhailenko began his musical journey in the 1990s. In 1991, he entered Odesa Secondary School No. 63, where he first tried himself as a DJ, organizing and performing at school parties. This early experience laid the foundation for his future career in the club scene.
After graduating from school in 2003, Viktor combined his musical interests with a growing passion for information technology. He became involved in web design, logo creation, and animation. Currently, he works successfully at the Minatrix web studio, collaborating with professionals in the IT field.
In addition to IT, Viktor studied part-time at the Department of Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology at Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National University, demonstrating a wide range of interests and skills.
Breakthrough and Recognition (2009–2010)
The most active phase of DJ Rem-x’s musical career took place in the late 2000s:
- 2009: Viktor launched a series of popular club events under the name “Minatrix-Party,” where he performed himself, strengthening his reputation within the Odesa club community.
- August 2010: DJ Rem-x won a friendly DJ battle and began actively producing his own tracks, showcasing his talent as a composer.
- December 2010: His house track Women’s Emotion entered the top 10 in the “Best House Track in Ukraine” competition. The track won the “Audience Choice Award” from Nightlife portal users and was included in a compilation by CTS Records, gaining international exposure.
The works of DJ Rem-x were released by well-known Ukrainian labels such as CTS Records, Fragmatic Records, FG Music, and others, confirming his reputation within the dance and electronic music scene.
Creative Activity and Current Projects
Viktor’s musical development was influenced by his interactions with prominent Ukrainian cultural figures, including the comedy troupe “Masks” led by Heorhiy Deliev, as well as rock musicians from the band “Master Klass.”
Besides music and web design, Viktor’s third major passion is literature, especially the science fiction genre.
Although the alias DJ Rem-x now belongs to the past, Viktor Mykhailenko continues to produce electronic music under his new project. Public live performances are currently limited due to the wartime situation in Ukraine, yet his early works as Rem-x remain unique and continue to resonate with a loyal audience.
