Oxxxymiron - Biography and discography, all albums and songs

Oxxxymiron

Oxxxymiron (real name — Miron Yanovich Fyodorov; born January 31, 1985, in Leningrad) is a Russian rapper, songwriter and battle MC, one of the key figures in Russian-language hip-hop of the 2010s. His work developed at the intersection of Russian rap, British grime and battle culture and is known for complex rhyme structures, dense lyricism and literary and historical references. Oxxxymiron’s best-known works include the albums «Вечный жид», «Горгород», «Красота и Уродство» and «Национальность: нет», as well as the songs «Город под подошвой», «Переплетено», «Где нас нет», «Неваляшка», «Кто убил Марка?», «ОЙДА» and «Лига Опасного Интернета».

Childhood, emigration and Oxford

Miron Fyodorov was born in Leningrad and spent the first nine years of his life there. His father is a physicist. In 1994, the family moved to Germany, where Miron became interested in rap and began writing his first lyrics in Russian and German at around the age of 12–13. In 2000, the family moved to the United Kingdom and settled in Slough near London.

In 2004, Fyodorov entered the University of Oxford, where he studied English Language and Literature. He specialized in medieval English literature, from Old English texts and «Beowulf» to Chaucer. During his studies, he headed the Russian Society at Oxford University. After a break in his education, he returned to the university and graduated in 2008. Fyodorov later emphasized that his degree was specifically in literature, while medieval studies were a specialization within the English Language and Literature course.

London and the return to rap

After Oxford, Fyodorov lived in East London, including Canning Town. He worked a number of jobs while performing at small venues and open mic sessions. It was during this period that music became his main professional direction. The British scene had a noticeable influence on his sound: grime, 2-step, dubstep, jungle and drum & bass. Oxxxymiron later said that grime in particular was especially important to him and that he was interested in adapting its rhythm and delivery to the Russian language.

After early attempts at making rap in the early 2000s, he released almost no music for several years. His full return came in 2008 with the tracks «Лондон против всех» and «Я хейтер». Oxxxymiron became associated with the German-based collective Optik Russia, which focused on Russian-language rap from the European diaspora. There he met Schokk, with whom he later created one of the most notable rap projects of the early 2010s.

Online battles and the first audience

In 2009, Oxxxymiron took part in the 14th Independent Battle on Hip-Hop.ru. He reached the semifinal stage, placing among the strongest participants in the large online tournament. Battles became one of the main tools for building his early audience: even before releasing a full-length album, Fyodorov had developed a reputation as a technically strong MC with multi-layered rhymes, punchlines and an aggressive delivery.

Unlike much of Russian rap at the time, Oxxxymiron emphasized not only lyrical content but also form — internal and multisyllabic rhymes, line structure, changes in rhythmic patterns and flow. At the same time, his lyrics increasingly featured literary, historical and linguistic references connected in part with his academic background. Oxxxymiron later described the combination of battle technique and a «bookish» cultural background as one of his contributions to the development of Russian-language hip-hop.

Vagabund and «Вечный жид»

After leaving Optik Russia, Oxxxymiron formed the Vagabund collective with Schokk and manager Vanya Lenin. The musicians toured across the CIS and positioned their technically demanding battle rap in opposition to much of the Russian scene at the time.

On September 15, 2011, Oxxxymiron released his debut studio album «Вечный жид». The record combined hardcore hip-hop, grime and more personal material. Key tracks included «Восточный Мордор», «Тентакли», «Крокодиловы слёзы», «Russky Cockney», «В говне» and «Спонтанное самовозгорание». The album attracted attention not only from rap audiences but also from the music press and became the foundation of his subsequent solo career.

By the end of 2011, the members of Vagabund had stopped working together. Ten years later, Fyodorov returned to the story of the collective’s breakup in the autobiographical track «Кто убил Марка?», where he described in detail the conflict of that period, his relationship with Schokk and the events involving rapper Roma Zhigan.

miXXXtape and Versus Battle

In 2012, Oxxxymiron released miXXXtape I, compiling material recorded between 2008 and 2011, followed in 2013 by miXXXtape II: «Долгий путь домой». The second mixtape combined new songs with older material and reinforced his transition from émigré underground rap to one of the central figures in Russian hip-hop.

At the same time, Oxxxymiron became one of the main participants in Versus Battle. After battles against Krip-A-Krip and Dunya, his 2015 clash with Johnyboy generated especially strong attention. The video quickly accumulated millions of views and helped transform Versus from a niche battle platform into a mainstream internet phenomenon. In 2016, Oxxxymiron also defeated ST.

«Город под подошвой» and «Горгород»

In September 2015, Oxxxymiron released the single «Город под подошвой», which became one of his major live tracks. The song is about constant touring, movement between cities and the life of an artist whose geography is no longer tied to a single country.

On November 13, 2015, Oxxxymiron released his second studio album «Горгород». It is a concept album consisting of 11 interconnected tracks that form a single narrative. The central character is a writer named Mark, who lives in a fictional city and gradually becomes drawn into a conflict between the authorities, culture and a protest movement.

The story unfolds through «Не с начала», «Кем ты стал», «Всего лишь писатель», «Девочка Пиздец», «Переплетено», «Колыбельная», «Полигон», «Накануне», «Слово мэра», «Башня из слоновой кости» and «Где нас нет». The absence of conventional guest verses and the consistent development of a single storyline made «Горгород» one of the best-known concept albums in Russian-language rap of the 2010s.

Booking Machine and the stadium period

From 2012, Oxxxymiron worked with the concert agency Booking Machine. In 2017, he became its executive director and participated in developing the collective, which at different times was associated with Markul, Thomas Mraz, Loqiemean and other artists. In August 2019, Fyodorov stepped down as CEO and ended his cooperation with Booking Machine as an artist.

The peak of his live growth came with the Imperivm tour. In November 2017, Oxxxymiron performed at Moscow’s Olimpiyskiy sports complex before approximately 22,000 spectators. For Russian-language rap at the time, a concert of this scale became one of the clearest signs of the genre’s transition from clubs to major arenas.

Battles with Slava KPSS and Dizaster

In August 2017, Oxxxymiron faced Slava KPSS (Gnoyny) in a battle jointly organized by Versus and #SLOVOSPB. Until then, Miron had been regarded as virtually undefeated on Versus, but the judges awarded the victory to Slava KPSS. The battle became one of the defining events of Russian-language internet culture in 2017 and reached far beyond the rap audience itself.

In October of the same year, Oxxxymiron battled American battle MC Dizaster at King of the Dot World Domination 7 in Los Angeles. The battle was conducted mostly in English and had no official judging decision. The performance became an important international episode in Oxxxymiron’s career and one of the most viewed battles on the King of the Dot channel.

Hiatus and return in 2021

After the end of a major touring cycle, Oxxxymiron sharply reduced the amount of solo music he released. Between 2018 and 2020, there were occasional collaborations and performances, but no new studio album. In 2019, the artist left Booking Machine and effectively closed the previous chapter of his career.

A full return came in the autumn of 2021. On November 1, Oxxxymiron released the nearly ten-minute autobiographical track «Кто убил Марка?», in which he spoke in detail for the first time about events surrounding the Vagabund period and the reasons for years of silence around several episodes of his biography. This was followed by miXXXtape III: «Смутное время», a 36-track retrospective combining material from different years with several new songs.

«Красота и Уродство»

On December 1, 2021, Oxxxymiron released his third studio album «Красота и Уродство», his first full-length record in six years. The album consists of 22 tracks, including «Агент», «Красота и Уродство», «Нон-фикшн», «Мы все умрём», «Чувствую», «Непрожитая жизнь», «Празднуй», «Лифт», «Грязь», «Африканские бусы» and «Дрейдл». The album was produced by Danny Zuckerman, with Dolphin, ATL, Igla, Tosya Chaikina, Aigel Gaisina and other musicians appearing on individual tracks.

Unlike the unified narrative of «Горгород», «Красота и Уродство» is structured as a collection of separate stories and emotional states. Its central themes include growing older, fame, emigration, fear of aging, relationships with the past and the tension between the public image of Oxxxymiron and Miron Fyodorov as a private person.

Anti-war concerts and music after 2022

After Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Oxxxymiron publicly spoke out against the war, canceled his planned concerts in Russia and left the country. In the spring, he organized a series of charity shows titled Russians Against War in Istanbul, London and Berlin; the proceeds were directed toward helping Ukrainian refugees.

In September 2022, he released the single «ОЙДА». In October of the same year, Russia’s Ministry of Justice added Miron Fyodorov to the register of individuals designated as «foreign agents». In subsequent years, Russian authorities initiated administrative and criminal proceedings against him, including cases related to the rules governing people with that status. In 2024, the Russian Interior Ministry placed Fyodorov on a wanted list, and in February 2026 a Russian court ordered a pretrial measure in absentia in the relevant case.

«Лига Опасного Интернета» and new singles

After 2022, Oxxxymiron continued releasing music primarily as standalone singles. In 2023, he released «Лига Опасного Интернета», «1.Kla$» and «Прекрасное Далёко» with Brutto. «Лига Опасного Интернета» received a large-scale music video and became one of the most notable releases of this period. In May 2024, the Porchy-produced single «МИР ГОРИТ» followed.

«Национальность: нет»

On December 16, 2025, Oxxxymiron released his fourth studio album «Национальность: нет». The record consists of eight tracks and became his first studio album since «Красота и Уродство». It includes «Как мои дела», «Vintage», «Приключения», «Lost & Found», «Банк», «Песнь Песней», «Русская Инородная Музыка» and «Бог в деталях».

The title is connected to a Russian Interior Ministry wanted notice in which the «nationality» field for Miron Fyodorov was listed as «none». In the album’s lyrics, the artist once again addresses emigration, his own biography, Russian culture, aging and the experience of a person positioned between several countries and identities.

EXIT and 2026

On April 10, 2026, Oxxxymiron released the single «EXIT». It was his first solo release after «Национальность: нет». On the track, he continued the autobiographical direction of his later work, reflecting on his career, public life and accumulated exhaustion. In the spring of 2026, the artist also returned to large-scale touring outside Russia.

Musical style and lyrics

Hip-hop remains the foundation of Oxxxymiron’s work, although his early sound was strongly connected to British grime. His music is characterized by dense lyricism, multisyllabic and internal rhymes, shifts in rhyme schemes within individual verses and fast rhythmic delivery. On «Вечный жид», the grime influence is especially apparent in «Восточный Мордор» and «Russky Cockney», while his later recordings are considerably broader in production.

His lyrics regularly use literary, historical, religious and political allusions. Autobiographical material also plays an important role: emigration, London, return to Russia, relationships with the music industry, success, and the conflict between the public image of Oxxxymiron and Miron Fyodorov as a private individual.

Battle rap occupies a separate and important place in his work. Even in studio songs, he uses battle techniques — direct address to an opponent, verbal traps, wordplay, double meanings and punchlines. The combination of these techniques with literary storytelling became one of the most recognizable features of his style.

Importance to Russian-language hip-hop

Oxxxymiron’s influence on Russian-language rap spans several areas. In the late 2000s, he participated in adapting British grime to the Russian language; in the early 2010s, he helped bring complex rhyme techniques and battle rap back to the center of attention; and later became one of the artists who helped turn internet battles into a mass phenomenon.

«Горгород» demonstrated the commercial potential of a large-scale concept rap album, while his performance at Olimpiyskiy before 22,000 spectators became one of the symbols of hip-hop’s transformation into a leading genre of Russian popular music in the second half of the 2010s. At the same time, Oxxxymiron’s own career continues to revolve around a recurring return to biography, language and the experience of a person living between different cultures — St. Petersburg, Germany, the United Kingdom and the broader Russian-language music scene.
