Мюслі UA does not have a traditional biography with publicly known member names, birth dates, or stories about how the future musicians first met in a studio. The Ukrainian project was deliberately built differently: its creators hide their faces behind bright masks, alter their voices during interviews, and try to keep the focus not on themselves but on the stories, phrases, and people from which their songs emerge. The members themselves have described the idea even more broadly: for them, Мюслі UA is not one specific person or even a conventional band, but an image behind which potentially any Ukrainian could stand.
The project gained widespread recognition after the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022 thanks to «Вова, їбаш їх блять», built around an emotional statement by Oleksandr Povorozniuk. It was followed by «Добрий день Everybody» with VASIA CHARISMA, «Остановіть ви цю ху..ню!», «Я Кайфую», «Скоро вже буде пасха» with Matvii Brus, «За териконами» with Misha Scorpion, «Ми Олімпійські чемпіонки», «Тиша Кривий Ріг 04.04», Don't Push The Horses with Oleksandr Usyk, and other releases. In July 2026, the catalog was expanded with «ВІЛЬНИЙ НАРОД», another collaboration with Misha Scorpion.
But the story of Мюслі UA began much earlier. Before becoming a music project with its own catalog, its creators spent several years working with political satire, parody, and edited internet videos. That is why their ability to quickly identify a viral phrase and turn it into a finished song was not an accidental discovery of 2022, but a continuation of a method they had already developed.
From «Мюслі Кличка» to Мюслі UA
The future project’s official YouTube channel was created back in 2018. It was originally called «Мюслі Кличка», and much of its early content was built around political satire and the image of Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko. There was even a separate segment called NEWSLI KLICHKA, in which a presenter with an artificially generated version of the politician’s face commented on the news.
Ahead of the 2019 presidential election, the creators released musical parodies involving Ukrainian politicians and popular songs. One surviving example is «Політична казка», based on the hit «Плакала» by KAZKA and devoted to the election campaigns of Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko. The video was published specifically on the «Мюслі Кличка» channel.
This period already explains much about the later style of Мюслі UA. The creators learned to treat other people’s speech as musical material: taking a recognizable intonation, changing its context through editing, repeating a single phrase until it becomes a chorus, and reacting quickly to current events while a joke or story is still at the center of public attention.
Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine radically changed the content of that method. Political parody gave way to a musical chronicle of war, public moods, and the country’s internet culture.
«Вова, їбаш їх блять»: the turning point
On March 26, 2022, the official Мюслі UA channel released VOVA їBash їх Blyad' | MEGA MIX. It was built around fragments of a viral interview with Oleksandr Povorozniuk — president of the Inhulets football club, an agricultural businessman, and head of a local territorial defense unit — who emotionally addressed Volodymyr Zelenskyy after the invasion began.
Мюслі UA turned the speech into a dance track. The production structure was deliberately straightforward: Povorozniuk’s most expressive words were cut into short phrases, some repeated as a chorus, while a direct electronic beat played underneath the voice.
On their official YouTube channel, the creators explicitly called the track a “cry from the soul” of millions of Ukrainians and a gesture of gratitude to the president for his position during the first weeks of the invasion. The video gathered millions of views and became the recording that took the name Мюслі UA far beyond the audience of the earlier satirical channel.
This is where the project’s core musical model took shape: a viral documentary phrase + a contemporary electronic arrangement + the fastest possible release.
The documentary nature of the source material is also important. Мюслі UA usually does not invent the protagonist of a song — that person already exists in the real information space. The musicians choose a phrase that already has a strong rhythm or emotional charge and transform it into musical form.
A mask instead of an identity
After the success of «Вова», an obvious question emerged: who exactly was making this music?
The public never received an answer.
In photos and at concerts, Мюслі UA appear in bright green masks that cover their faces. In interviews, they also avoid revealing their identities. In 2023, journalists noted that two men regularly appeared on camera, but the project itself never reduced its identity to the conventional formula of a “duo” and never published confirmed civilian names of its members.
Мюслі UA explained their anonymity not as an attempt to create a mystery around already famous stars, but as a rejection of personality cult. In their view, they do not need to promote their own faces: the music should communicate the mood of Ukrainians and document the time in which it was created. The creators openly said that they wanted to leave these works online as a kind of record of what was happening in Ukraine in 2022 and what helped people stay united.
This also explains the project’s visual formula: black clothing, a green mask, minimal biographical information, and no conventional separation between the “star” and the protagonist of a particular song.
«Добрий день Everybody» and VASIA CHARISMA
The next major internet hit was «Добрий день Everybody».
It was based on a voice message by blogger VASIA CHARISMA addressed to then British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Charisma used to record humorous voice messages to famous people and published a video in which he thanked Johnson for supporting Ukraine. After the clip began spreading online, Мюслі UA sent him a short message on Instagram saying they were preparing a track.
The official single «Добрий день Everybody (feat. VASIA CHARISMA)» was released on July 4, 2022.
The project’s method of turning natural speech into melody is especially clear here. VASIA CHARISMA’s phrases were not originally written as song lyrics, but the intonation, the mixture of Ukrainian and English, and the comic rhythm made it possible to build a complete pop song around them.
The success coincided with the special attitude many Ukrainians had toward Boris Johnson, who during the first months of the full-scale war was viewed as one of Ukraine’s most consistent international allies. The song therefore worked simultaneously as an internet meme and as musical gratitude.
A musical diary of 2022
Throughout 2022, Мюслі UA released songs at an unusual pace.
The digital catalog added «Остановіть ви цю ху..ню!», «УКРАЇНА ПОНАД УСЕ», Yo Ma Yo, KURWA BOBR, «Я Кайфую» with Lesia Nikitiuk and MC Papa, Be Brave Like Ukraine, as well as a children’s version of «Ой, у лузі червона калина». Apple Music now lists several of these recordings among the most popular parts of the project’s catalog.
A radio-oriented release titled «УЛЮБЛЕНІ ХІТИ (БЕЗ МАТІВ)» also appeared, featuring clean versions of three of the best-known early tracks: «Вова», «Остановіть ви цю» and «Добрий день Everybody».
In this way, the project quickly stopped being simply a source of internet remixes. The songs began to exist on streaming platforms, radio, television stages, and concert venues as an independent musical catalog.
Why short phrases become songs
The main production strength of Мюслі UA is the ability to hear the musicality of spoken language.
An ordinary person does not speak in a fixed meter or shape every sentence to fit a bar. But emotional speech almost always has its own pattern: stresses, pauses, accelerations, and repetitions.
Мюслі UA isolate the most rhythmic fragment and build the arrangement around it.
Sometimes the voice becomes the chorus. Sometimes a single phrase turns into a bass-vocal motif. In other cases, the source video provides only the theme, while an additional musical or original section is built around it.
The musicians themselves have said that the team is constantly searching for material: a large number of clips, phrases, and stories are sent to an internal group chat every day, but only around one tenth of the ideas they process eventually reach publication. Followers also send memes themselves and tag the project under potentially interesting videos.
That is why the Мюслі UA formula resembles the work of a news desk and an electronic music studio at the same time.
«Скоро вже буде пасха»
In the spring of 2023, the project once again found a protagonist far outside the professional entertainment industry.
Five-year-old Matvii Brus from a farming family in the Cherkasy region appeared in a homemade advertising video in which he enthusiastically talked about the approaching Easter holiday and encouraged viewers to buy homemade meat, sausage, and other products. Within days, the clip became a TikTok meme and accumulated millions of views.
Мюслі UA turned his phrases into «Скоро вже буде пасха».
The song became one of the biggest Ukrainian TikTok trends of the spring: ordinary users, bloggers, artists, and military personnel all created videos to it. MUZVAR reported that the original clip had already reached around eight million views even before the full release of the song.
The story revealed an important side of the project: its material does not necessarily have to be political or related to war. What interests Мюслі UA first of all is a phrase that precisely matches the emotional state of a large number of people at a particular moment.
In the difficult wartime year of 2023, Matvii’s childlike spontaneity became a brief moment of relief and a nationwide joke.
From meme to serious song: «За териконами»
If Мюслі UA were judged only by «Скоро вже буде пасха» or «Добрий день Everybody», it would be easy to see the project as purely humorous.
«За териконами» completely changes that impression.
The single was released on October 27, 2023 together with serviceman and songwriter Misha Scorpion — Mykhailo Stasula. In the digital credits, Stasula is listed as the lyricist, while Мюслі UA is credited as composer.
The story of the song is directly connected with the front line. Mykhailo wrote the lyrics while serving near Marinka. In front of his unit were spoil tips occupied by Russian troops, from which Ukrainian positions were regularly shelled. The lyrics are also dedicated to his fallen comrade Rostyslav Terletskyi, call sign “Baron”, who was killed on November 17, 2022.
Instead of turning a random phrase into a comic chorus, Мюслі UA created a full dramatic arrangement for an already written song.
It was «За териконами» that showed the project’s production method could work with more than memes. Editing, electronic music, and repetition could convey grief and frontline memory just as effectively as humor.
During its first four months, according to the project’s official channel, the video received more than 2.3 million views, while total streams of the song across music platforms exceeded 10 million. Later, Мюслі UA and Misha Scorpion performed the track on «Вечірній Квартал».
In 2024, Mykhailo Stasula was also nominated for the MUZVAR Awards in a songwriting category specifically for «За териконами».
More than remixes
After «За териконами», it became increasingly inaccurate to define Мюслі UA simply as “a group that makes songs out of memes.”
In July 2023, «ЗАХИЩАТИ» appeared, based on public statements by Volodymyr Zelenskyy about defending the country and achieving victory. At the end of the year, together with «Радіо Пісня», the project announced an experiment: to create 12 “people’s” songs in 12 months, using lines submitted by Ukrainians themselves in the comments, while Мюслі UA would handle the arrangements.
The idea matched the project’s existing philosophy almost perfectly. If the original voice truly matters more than the producer’s identity, then a song can be authored not by one professional poet, but by many unfamiliar people.
2024: from folk-inspired songs to the Olympics
In 2024, the catalog continued to expand.
Official digital releases included «Ой пила я», «Ярик, бачок потік», «Твари какие-то», «Ми Олімпійські чемпіонки» with Olha Kharlan, «Я по тобі скучаю» with Dashulka Bulka, and «З Новимс рокомс!» with galinas.
The story behind «Ми Олімпійські чемпіонки» is especially characteristic of the project.
The track was assembled from fragments of an interview with Ukrainian sabre fencer Olha Kharlan after the Olympic Games. It was first presented during the «Національна легенда України» state awards ceremony. To further play with their own anonymity, Мюслі UA brought a person wearing the trademark mask onto the stage; at the end, it was revealed that the person underneath was Olympic champion and member of parliament Zhan Beleniuk.
This episode almost perfectly summarizes the entire concept of Мюслі UA: the mask really can be worn by another person, because the visual character is more important than any permanent individual face underneath it.
«Мюслі UA знімають маски»
The theme of anonymity developed in a much more serious direction through the social project «Мюслі UA знімають маски».
In February 2024, Мюслі UA and the charitable foundation REPOWER opened a photo exhibition at the Gulliver shopping center in Kyiv dedicated to military medics. The title deliberately played with public expectations: the musicians did not reveal their own faces — instead, the project “removed the masks” in order to show people who genuinely deserved public attention.
The exhibition presented the stories of eight paramedics, combat medics, and military doctors. At the same time, a fundraiser was launched for 750,000 hryvnias to support the psychological rehabilitation of ten combat medics.
In this context, anonymity stopped being merely a recognizable design element. It became a principle: the creator steps aside and gives the central place to the protagonist of a particular story.
«Тиша Кривий Ріг 04.04»
One of the project’s heaviest works was «Тиша Кривий Ріг 04.04», released on April 18, 2025.
The composition is dedicated to those killed in the Russian missile strike on Kryvyi Rih on April 4, 2025. In the description of the official video, Мюслі UA called the song a tribute to the innocent victims of the tragedy and separately listed the nine children who were killed.
The project did not stop at releasing the song. Мюслі UA offered to perform free of charge at a charitable event organized by the football club «Кривбас», which was raising money for the families of the children who had died. According to the project’s official channel, 1,693,000 hryvnias were raised directly at the event, while the overall fundraiser had surpassed 5 million by that time.
This work is about as far removed as possible from the project’s original political parodies under «Мюслі Кличка», although the production principle remains the same: start with an event that the country is living through right now.
Oleksandr Usyk and Don't Push The Horses
In the summer of 2025, the project once again returned to its humorous side.
Don't Push The Horses was released on July 22, 2025 featuring Oleksandr Usyk. Apple Music classifies the track as dance music and credits Мюслі UA as both songwriter and producer.
The title comes from a comic literal English translation of the Ukrainian-Russian expression «не гони коней». Usyk has long been known for unusual English phrases and deliberate wordplay in interviews, and Мюслі UA turned this recognizable trait into a complete dance track.
The song is built around a whole series of deliberately literal translations of sayings. In August 2025, the project performed it on the stage of «Вечірній Квартал».
The collaboration with Usyk clearly demonstrates the difference between Мюслі UA and a conventional parody. They do not simply mock a celebrity’s speech mistake, but transform an already recognizable public trait into a musical character — with the person himself becoming an official participant in the release.
«ВІЛЬНИЙ НАРОД»
The next notable stage was a return to collaboration with Misha Scorpion.
The single «ВІЛЬНИЙ НАРОД» was released on July 15, 2026. It became the second major collaboration between Мюслі UA and Mykhailo Stasula after «За териконами». Digital services list its duration at around three minutes and fifteen seconds.
The fact that they worked together again is important for the project’s development. «За териконами» was no longer a one-off departure from the meme-based model: war songs and collaboration with a direct participant in combat became a separate and stable line within the Мюслі UA catalog.
Musical style
Streaming platforms classify individual Мюслі UA releases in different ways — as pop, dance, electronic, indie pop, and even alternative. That variation is entirely logical: the project does not build its music around one fixed genre standard.
The early viral works are closest to electronic dance-pop. They use a direct beat, powerful low end, short synthesizer motifs, and a large number of vocal samples.
But genre always serves the source story.
«Скоро вже буде пасха» needs a light, almost childlike dance quality. «Добрий день Everybody» works as a comic pop song. «Вова, їбаш їх блять» is closer to an aggressive club manifesto. «За териконами» calls for a dramatic wartime ballad, while «Тиша Кривий Ріг 04.04» almost completely abandons the project’s familiar meme-driven tone.
For that reason, it is more accurate to define the musical method of Мюслі UA not by genre, but by the principle of transforming documentary material into contemporary popular music.
Speed as part of the creative process
For a conventional artist, a song may take several months to move from an idea to an official release.
For Мюслі UA, that kind of delay can make the material meaningless.
If a phrase is at the center of Ukrainian meme culture today, its emotional context may disappear six months later. The project therefore works almost like musical journalism: an event happens, a clip spreads, the team chooses the strongest fragment, quickly produces an arrangement, and releases the track while the audience is still living through the story.
Мюслі UA themselves have described timeliness as one of the most important characteristics of their work. They cited «Вова», «Скоро буде Паска», and «Добрий день Everybody» as examples: each recording appeared at exactly the moment when the corresponding emotion was especially needed by the audience.
This also explains the strongly single-oriented structure of their discography.
Мюслі UA discography
The project does not have a conventional sequence of full-length studio albums. Its main discography consists of individual singles and small thematic releases, which better suits its ability to react quickly to current events. Apple Music and Shazam classify the overwhelming majority of its works as singles & EPs.

Why the identities of the members are still not the main point
For many anonymous artists, a hidden identity is primarily a marketing mystery. Once the person is revealed, the intrigue ends.
With Мюслі UA, the mask works differently.
The project has already demonstrated that the person underneath it can change: for example, during the presentation of the song about Olha Kharlan, Zhan Beleniuk wore the mask. In the members’ own formulation, there “can be anyone” behind it.
That is why the attempt to establish the creators’ real names at all costs is, in a sense, contrary to the project’s artistic construction.
Мюслі UA turns anonymity into a way of shifting attention elsewhere: today the central figure is Vasyl Charisma, tomorrow it is the child Matvii, then serviceman Mykhailo Stasula, Olha Kharlan, Oleksandr Usyk, or the families of those killed in Kryvyi Rih.
The mask remains, while the protagonist changes.
The place of Мюслі UA in contemporary Ukrainian music
The phenomenon of Мюслі UA emerged at the intersection of several processes.
The first is the transformation of TikTok, Telegram, and short-form video into full-fledged sources of musical material. A song no longer has to begin with a guitar melody or a studio beat. Its starting point can be a voice message, a television interview, or a random homemade advertisement.
The second is the special role of music after February 2022. Under conditions of full-scale war, songs in Ukraine were no longer purely entertainment. They became a way to quickly express shared anger, gratitude, fear, self-irony, or grief.
It was in this environment that «Вова, їбаш їх блять» and «Добрий день Everybody» became more than ordinary memes. They preserve the emotional tone of the first months of the war in an almost documentary form.
The third element is the project’s ability not to become trapped in humor.
If the entire discography consisted only of funny phrases by politicians and celebrities, Мюслі UA could be seen as a successful format of the TikTok era. «За териконами», the social project with military medics, and «Тиша Кривий Ріг 04.04» made the picture considerably more complex.
As a result, Мюслі UA developed a form that is rare in contemporary pop music: a chronicle-project that continuously turns events and voices from everyday life into songs.
Their early «Мюслі Кличка» channel mocked political news. «Вова» captured the rage of the first weeks of the invasion. «Добрий день Everybody» expressed gratitude to an ally. «Скоро вже буде пасха» reflected the country’s need to smile, even briefly. «За териконами» conveyed the experience of someone who saw the war directly from the trenches. «Тиша Кривий Ріг 04.04» became an expression of collective grief after the deaths of civilians. Don't Push The Horses brought humor back again, while «ВІЛЬНИЙ НАРОД» continued the military and patriotic line of the catalog.
That is why the real biography of Мюслі UA consists less of the biographies of the people behind the masks than of the stories that Ukraine lived through alongside their music. While most artists turn their own lives into the content of their songs, Мюслі UA does the opposite — stepping aside and transforming the life of the country around them into music.
