Банд’Эрос - Biography and discography, all albums and songs

Банд’Эрос

Band’Eros is a Russian musical group blending elements of pop, funk-rap, R’n’B, and dance music. Known for their flamboyance, self-irony, and charisma, they became one of the defining acts of the mid-2000s Russian pop scene.

Formation and Early Years (2005–2006)

The story of Band’Eros began in the summer of 2005, when five artists — Natasha, Rada, Batishtha, Igor DMCB, and Ruslan — decided to join forces for the sake of creativity and fun. Despite their different backgrounds and temperaments, they shared a passion for stylish, modern, and danceable music. The producer Alexander Dulov helped channel their energy into a professional project.

The name “Band’Eros” is a playful word game combining the Spanish “band” with a hint of a “bandit” image, emphasizing their cheeky and rebellious spirit.

Their first performances took place in Moscow clubs, where the audience immediately appreciated the group’s vibrant energy and charisma. Their debut hit, “Boom Señorita”, became a club anthem across Moscow and other cities.

Breakthrough and Universal Music Contract (2006–2007)

In the spring of 2006, Band’Eros signed a deal with Universal Music Russia, marking the turning point in their career. That summer they released “Columbia Pictures ne predstavlyaet” (“Columbia Pictures does not present”), which instantly became the anthem of the season. Their mix of humor, irony, and stylish R’n’B sound made them stand out on the pop scene.

In autumn 2006, their debut album “Columbia Pictures ne predstavlyaet” was released, including:

  • “Boom Señorita”
  • “Naomi ya by Campbell”
  • “Ya ne lyublyu tebya” (I Don’t Love You)
  • “Ne zarekaysya”
  • “Parizh” (Paris)

The album sold over 200,000 copies — a rare achievement for Russian pop in the mid-2000s. That same year, Band’Eros won the MTV Russia Music Award for “Best Debut”.

Development and Sound Evolution (2007–2010)

After their initial success, the lineup changed: Rada was replaced by Tanya, and dancer Ruslan was later succeeded by rapper Roman Pan, adding a stronger hip-hop vibe to the group.

The band continued experimenting with their signature “urban glam” style — witty lyrics, powerful beats, and vibrant performance aesthetics.

During this era, they released hits such as:

  • “Pro krasivuyu zhizn” (About a Beautiful Life)
  • “Na more” (At the Sea)
  • “Manhattan”
  • “Ya ne khochu tebya teryat” (I Don’t Want to Lose You)

In 2009, Band’Eros received the Golden Gramophone Award for their contribution to pop-R’n’B and enduring popularity.

“Kundalini” and the Mature Era (2010–2013)

The 2010 album “Kundalini” marked a new, more conceptual stage in their career. It included:

  • “Adiós”
  • “Do vesny” (Until Spring)
  • “Ne pod etim solntsem” (Not Under This Sun) — a reflective ballad
  • “Pro modeley” and “Kitano”, written for the film “Wedding by Exchange”.

At the album’s presentation, the appearance of former member Rada symbolically emphasized the group’s legacy and continuity.
