Он никогда её не видел.

Они смеялись. Начинали одновременно произносить одну и ту же фразу и каждый раз удивлялись этой странной синхронизации, будто где-то далеко друг от друга жили в одном ритме.

Иногда она плакала. Тихо, почти сквозь улыбку, понимая, что расстояние между ними слишком велико.

Он утешал её и говорил:

«Милая... Всё может быть...»

Может, да.

Может, нет.

Они не знали, чем закончится эта история. Да и нужно ли было знать?

Им просто было хорошо вместе.

И, возможно, некоторые люди приходят в нашу жизнь не тогда, когда всё удобно и правильно. Они просто однажды появляются — голосом в телефоне, сообщением среди ночи, привычным «доброе утро» — и незаметно становятся частью твоего дня, твоих мыслей, твоей тишины.

Им было хорошо вместе.

He had never seen her.

At first, there were only messages. Beautiful, warm, sometimes very short. He wrote to her in the morning, in the evening, late at night. She answered him. And little by little, something began to grow between them — something neither of them was ready to name.

Then he heard her voice.

And she heard his.

And they discovered that sometimes no words were needed at all. They could stay silent for a long time and somehow still hear everything the other one was not saying.

They laughed. They would suddenly say the same thing at the same time and each time be amazed by that strange synchronicity, as if, somewhere far apart, they were living to the same rhythm.

Sometimes she cried. Quietly, almost through a smile, knowing that the distance between them was far too great.

He comforted her and whispered:

Maybe yes.

Maybe no.

They did not know how this story would end. And perhaps they did not need to know.

They were simply happy together.

And maybe some people enter our lives not when everything is easy, convenient or right. They simply appear one day — as a voice on the phone, a message in the middle of the night, a familiar “good morning” — and quietly become part of your day, your thoughts, your silence.

They were happy together.
