Roger Sanchez (real name — Roger Rene Sanchez, born June 1, 1967 in New York City, USA) — is an American DJ, producer, and remixer of Dominican descent. One of the key figures of the house and progressive scene since the 1990s.

From an early age, he was interested in art and architecture but eventually chose music. His first successes came in the late 1980s — early 1990s, when he began releasing remixes and original tracks under the alias Roger S.

His style is a blend of house, funky house, tribal house, progressive house, with strong influences from Latin American culture.

Musical Career

In the 1990s, Roger Sanchez became known as a remixer for artists such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Maroon 5, Daft Punk, and Jamiroquai. His remixes became a benchmark of club sound.

In 2001, the biggest hit of his career was released — “Another Chance”, based on a sample from Toto’s “I Won’t Hold You Back”. The track became a worldwide hit, reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart, and made Sanchez a global name.

He also founded his own label, Stealth Records, and launched the radio show Release Yourself, which became iconic among house music fans.
